The 2016 Convention Committee cordially invites you to historic Williamsburg for another joint meeting of both the American Rhododendron Society and the Azalea Society of America. The picture above is the famous Governor’s Mansion including the Palace Gardens in Colonial Williamsburg, one of the prime historical attractions.
The dates we have selected are at the opening of Historic Garden Week in Virginia, one of the most beautiful times of the year in the region. In most years, this time frame is when our native dogwoods (Cornus florida) are in bloom (pictured to the right).
Virginians love the dogwood so much they chose it for the State Tree as well as the State Flower!
Our convention will be staged at the Fort Magruder Hotel and Conference Center which is conveniently located within a mile of Historic Colonial Williamsburg, and close to many other attractions including Jamestown, Busch Gardens, 11 golf courses, and the Williamsburg Outlet Mall.
